#ONEGetac Partnership Made for an Exciting 2019 IACP Conference

Getac Video Solutions was proud to partner with Getac USA and host a booth at last month’s 2019 IACP Annual Conference and Expo in Chicago, IL.

Hosted by The International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), the IACP conference is the most important law enforcement event of the year and has taken place annually since 1893. The multi-day event kicked off with speakers including Danny DeVito who said he was there to “thank [law enforcement] and to pay my respect, and show my admiration for your bravery.” Additionally, for the second year in a row, President Donald Trump also delivered an address and signed an executive order on stage re-establishing a “Commission on Law Enforcement and the Administration of Justice,” which is expected to focus on mental illness, substance abuse, and homelessness.

While much of the conference was business as usual–law enforcement officers from around the globe in attendance to learn about the latest in law enforcement technology, discussing industry trends and networking with colleagues–there were a few things that set this year’s conference apart. First, the 2019 conference had the second-highest attendance in conference history with more than 18,000 attendees, 600+ exhibitors, four days of education sessions and speakers, and three days of expo. Second, Getac Video and Getac USA partnered for the first time to showcase the only end-to-end solution for public safety.

#ONEGetac: GVS and GUSA co-host IACP booth

Together, Getac USA and Getac Video Solutions brought a powerful and complete set of software and hardware solutions to IACP. Law Enforcement officers and Public Safety professionals demoed tools and technology they need in order to do their jobs safely, efficiently, and effectively. Getac USA specializes in rugged laptops and tablets as well as video and software solutions, while Getac Video Solutions is trusted for rugged body and in-car cameras, DVR, trigger box and mounting solutions, as well as integrated software that connects and streamlines all components. Together, the two provide a comprehensive evidence management package unparalleled in the industry.

During the conference, we had hundreds of visitors at our booth sitting in our fully-outfitted vehicle to experience our solutions in action. From the body-worn camera and in-car units as well as the Real Time Command Center, visitors were able to get the full first-hand experience of the hardware layout and software connectivity.

Connecting with partners and colleagues

Our time in Chicago also allowed us to catch up with a few of our strategic partners including SYNNEX and Microsoft, the creator of the Azure Government Cloud platform that Getac Video leverages for our Getac Enterprise Data Management system. We were also able to meet with our newest partner, RapidDeploy, that recently announced the launch of its Lightning Partner Program featuring Getac Video’s cameras and in-car video systems. This partnership plays to the strengths of Getac Video’s technical capabilities to support emergency communications and first responders.

“Getac Video Solutions’ body cameras, in car video systems and software solutions, provide customers unified and secure access to field evidence data including live streaming, allowing instantaneous situational awareness with Getac Real Time Command utilizing Microsoft IoT Edge and Azure Government cloud,” said Tom Guzik, President of Getac Video.

Our colleagues from Getac’s Taipei, Taiwan office also attended IACP along with members of the Taipei Police Authority.

We are already looking forward to IACP 2020 in New Orleans, LA. Stay tuned for more information about our booth as the date gets closer. And as they say in Louisiana: “L’aissez les bon temps rouler!”
